Senior Center Trainee (16 hrs/wk)

Trainee Position

POSITION SUMMARY: This is a trainee position. The trainee will be exposed to a variety of positions and duties that are part of senior center operations. The duties could include cooking, food preparation, serving, preparation of home delivered meals, delivery of meals, cleaning and custodial duties, driving and transportation services and homemaker/chore/respite services. A trainee will not work more than 20 hours per week without prior written approval from the NM Aging Long-Term Services Department (ALTSD).

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

• 55 years or older.
• Must be a New Mexico Resident.
• Must be enrolled in the New Mexico Senior Employment Program.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• Have or be able to obtain First Aid and BLS/CPR certifications within 30 days of hire. Certifications must meet the requirements listed in the document "BLS / CPR / ACLS & First Aid Training Resources" posted on Staurolite. It is your responsibility to keep your certifications current at all times.

SCREENING REQUIREMENTS:

• This position requires successful completion of an initial post-offer of employment Criminal Records Check.

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS:

• If trainee is interested in performing duties that require driving, must sign Job Description Addendum for Driver Duties and have a Valid NM Driver's license.
