Job description

The College of Business invites applications for an Adjunct Lecturer to teach in the Career & Life Design Program in partnership with the Career Center. This position provides instruction in CAR 351: Career & Life Design III: Pathways in Accounting and Finance, supporting students as they explore industry‑specific career pathways, strengthen their professional identities, and develop the skills and career materials needed for successful transitions into the workforce. The instructor will create an inclusive, learner‑centered learning environment in face‑to‑face, hybrid, or online formats while fostering student engagement, career development, and academic success. Responsibilities Teach CAR 351: Career & Life Design III: Pathways in Accounting and Finance, a two‑credit course within the Career (CAR) curriculum. Create and facilitate an inclusive, learner‑centered learning environment in face‑to‑face, hybrid, or online formats. Guide students through a design‑thinking process to explore industry‑specific career pathways and evaluate career opportunities. Facilitate career exploration through labor market research, networking activities, and professional development experiences. Coach students in developing career readiness materials, including an e‑Portfolio, résumé, personal branding statement, and LinkedIn profile. Develop and deliver course materials that align with course learning outcomes using evidence‑based teaching and assessment practices. Advise and coach students through regular interaction, providing individualized guidance related to career design, professional development, and course success. Monitor student progress, provide timely and constructive feedback, and connect students with additional resources when appropriate. Maintain clear communication with students and program stakeholders while adhering to institutional policies, instructional expectations, and established timelines. Participate in required meetings, training, and continuous improvement activities. Required Qualifications Must hold unrestricted employment authorization for the U.S. Master?s degree Demonstrated ability to teach, coach, or facilitate learning. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to support diverse student populations. Commitment to inclusive, learner‑centered teaching practices. Current practitioner in the field of accounting or finance. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting career development, professional identity formation, or career design. Experience advising, mentoring, or coaching students in higher education or professional settings. Knowledge of learning management systems and educational technologies.
