Position Information Posting Number: PT252 Job Title: ADJUNCT - PROCESS TECHNOLOGY POOL Department: Industrial Technology Position Type: Faculty Employment Status: Adjunct Salary: Adjunct Stipend Open Date: 11/12/2025 Close Date: Open Until Filled Position Summary Teach freshman and sophomore level process technology courses in the basics of the petroleum industry to prepare students for entry‑level positions. The instructor is responsible for providing instruction to students through classroom and laboratory settings. Classes are taught according to program objectives, approved curriculum and student learning outcomes, incorporating field experience and technical knowledge into a learner‑centered environment that emphasizes interactive and hands‑on practice. The instructor will advise students on academic, career, and related issues to promote student growth and success. Minimum Qualifications Associate’s degree AND three (3) years of documented work experience in Refining/Petrochemical or related field. OR Ten (10) or more years of documented work experience in Refining/Petrochemical or related work experience. Must be able to accurately read and analyze piping and instrumentation diagrams. Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Knowledge of how processes and systems interact with each other and ability to bring real world operations experiences into the classroom. Preferred Qualifications Successful college teaching experience. Experience teaching college level courses and documented success in a college learning management system (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas). Knowledge of a learning community and experience with learning communities. Ten+ years as a console operator in refining/petrochemical industry and ability to apply those skills to advanced process technology courses. Teaching or training department experience in an industrial environment. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with competency in Microsoft Office and web‑based applications. Knowledge of and commitment to teaching strategies and methods which enhance student success. Ability to teach and communicate with students of varied multicultural backgrounds.
