This role offers a dynamic opportunity to provide specialized patient care within both the Operating Room (OR) and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) environments. The successful candidate will be integral to the surgical team, primarily responsible for circulating during surgical procedures to ensure patient safety, maintain sterile fields, and manage necessary equipment. Additionally, this role involves providing critical post-anesthesia recovery care, including vigilant monitoring of vital signs, effective pain management, and facilitating a smooth and safe emergence from anesthesia. This position is ideal for an RN who excels in a fast-paced setting and is committed to delivering exceptional care throughout the perioperative continuum. Key Responsibilities Circulate in the Operating Room, assisting the surgical team, anticipating needs, and ensuring adherence to sterile technique and safety protocols. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments in the PACU, developing and implementing individualized care plans for post-anesthesia recovery. Monitor, interpret, and document patient vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and neurological status during recovery. Administer medications, including pain management and antiemetics, as prescribed, and evaluate patient response. Provide expert airway management and respiratory support for patients emerging from anesthesia. Educate patients and families on post-operative care, discharge instructions, and potential complications. Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes. Respond promptly and effectively to emergent situations, demonstrating strong critical thinking and clinical judgment. Required Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Washington. Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience in an Operating Room (Circulate) or Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) setting. Preferred Qualifications Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification. Skills & Competencies Proficiency in aseptic technique and surgical circulating duties. Strong assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in acute care settings. Expertise in airway management and respiratory assessment. Competence in pain management strategies and medication administration. Ability to interpret vital signs, EKG rhythms, and laboratory results. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills. Ability to adapt to changing patient conditions and work effectively under pressure. Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
