Job description

Technical Learning Program Manager

Join GE Vernova's Technical Learning Office and help shape the future of engineering capability across Gas Power Engineering. As the Technical Learning Program Manager, you will lead the design, coordination, and continuous improvement of high-impact technical learning programs that strengthen technical depth, systems thinking, innovation, and AI-enabled ways of working.

In this role, you will lead Technical Development Assessments (TDA) and the Deep Smarts knowledge transfer program while identifying skill gaps and translating business needs into targeted learning solutions. You will also deliver and scale technical workshops and learning experiences that help engineers build the capabilities needed to support current business priorities and the Engineer 2030 vision.

This position is ideal for someone who can combine strong technical credibility, structured program management, and thoughtful execution. The role requires a leader who can turn expert knowledge into repeatable learning assets, support capability growth across a broad engineering population, and help transform critical knowledge into modern, searchable, AI-augmented resources for future engineers.

Roles and Responsibilities

Technical Development Assessment Leader

Own and manage the Technical Development Assessment (TDA) process to evaluate technical strengths, identify capability gaps, and inform targeted development actions. Use assessment insights to help shape learning priorities and growth plans across engineering populations.

Deep Smarts Knowledge Transfer Owner

Lead the Deep Smarts knowledge transfer program to capture critical expertise from experienced engineers and convert it into structured learning experiences, documentation, and reusable knowledge assets. Help preserve institutional knowledge and make it accessible to future engineering talent.

Workshop Design and Delivery

Design, coordinate, and deliver technical workshops such as Systems Thinking, Innovation, and related capability-building sessions. Ensure content is relevant, practical, and aligned to engineering needs and business priorities.

Skill Gap Analysis and Learning Strategy Support

Analyze TDA results from GPE sub-orgs and workday skills, feedback, and business input to identify skill gaps and learning opportunities. Translate findings into program recommendations, targeted learning solutions, and continuous improvement actions.

AI-Enabled Knowledge Transformation

Support the conversion of expert knowledge into AI-augmented, searchable libraries and learning assets that improve access to critical information and strengthen self-service learning. Help modernize how technical knowledge is stored, shared, and reused.

Program Coordination and Execution

Manage program schedules, participants, materials, communications, and follow-up actions to ensure smooth delivery of technical learning activities. Maintain strong attention to detail and ensure programs run with quality, consistency, and efficiency.

Stakeholder Engagement

Partner with engineering leaders, subject matter experts, and learning stakeholders to align learning priorities with capability needs. Build strong relationships that support participation, knowledge capture, and sustain program impact.

Metrics and Continuous Improvement

Track program effectiveness through participation data, assessment results, feedback, and learning outcomes. Use data to improve program design, increase impact, and ensure the learning portfolio remains relevant and scalable.

Executive Communication

Prepare clear updates and recommendations for leadership on TDA findings, knowledge transfer progress, skill gaps, and learning impact. Communicate in a way that supports decision-making and helps leaders understand capability trends across the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Learning and Development, Technical Education, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • 8 years of experience in engineering, technical learning, capability development, operations, or related roles, with professional experience in project management, instructional design, and engineering.
  • 5 years of experience supporting technical training, assessment, or knowledge transfer efforts.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to travel to core US and global hubs to support workshops, assessments, knowledge transfer sessions, and stakeholder meetings; about 10%.
  • Ability and willingness to support occasional off-hours work to address urgent business or program needs.
  • GVH will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a drug screen (as applicable). This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GVH will require proof of status prior to employment.
  • Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a site security clearance, including NRC required background check

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong technical curiosity and the ability to translate complex engineering knowledge into practical learning experiences.
  • Strong program management and organizational skills with excellent written / verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with engineers, SMEs, or technical teams in a learning, development, or capability-building context including strong facilitation and workshop delivery skills.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and delivering programs with consistency and quality. Demonstrated ability to identify patterns in capability gaps and turn insight into action.
  • Engineer 2030 approach with embodying AI-enabled learning, knowledge management, and modern approaches to technical development and excels at building cross-functional.
  • An open-minded, self-motivated professional who is empowered to challenge the status quo, dream big, and take calculated risks to push the organization forward.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
