Location: 600 RANCH RD, Reedsport, OR, 97467-1795, United States Position Title: CT/X-Ray Technologist Employee Type: Non-Exempt Job Type: Per Diem Department: Imaging / Radiology Work Location: Hospital, In Person Benefits: No Job Summary The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for operating all radiology equipment, except ultrasound, independently. This position must take call with a maximum 20-minute response time and be able to take direction from the Radiology Director, Radiologists, and Physicians. Essential Duties Follow prescribed techniques in administering general and special radiographs and properly save/display examinations according to manufacturer recommendations. Practice sterile techniques in all procedures requiring such techniques. Keep an accurate log of all patients and procedures performed. Observe patients and equipment during procedures to assure patient and technologist safety and report any problems to the Assistant Director of Imaging or Director immediately. Take portable equipment to the emergency room or patient room and C-arm to surgery, and perform necessary procedures. Perform basic head, abdominal, pelvic, and spine CT examinations and basic helical CT examinations. Perform helical CT scans of the chest for pulmonary embolism and/or dissecting aneurysm. Clean and disinfect rooms and equipment after each procedure. Transport patients to and from the Imaging Department. Maintain stock and supplies and perform general clerical duties. Assist the Radiologist in performing CT-guided biopsies. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and License Graduation, diploma, or certificate from an accredited JRCERT School of Radiologic Technology. Licensed with the National Registry, ARRT, and the State of Oregon Board of Medical Imaging, or eligible for licensing by the State of Oregon. Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS). Experience Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a hospital Radiology Department. Minimum of one year of clinical experience on a CT scanner in a hospital Radiology Department or clinic. Additional Qualifications Must be able to work well in an environment with many disruptions. Must work well under stress. Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally. Must be able to offer assistance to any staff member whenever help is needed. Must be open and eager to learn new skills and grow in current abilities. Must be able to demonstrate pride through actions, appearance, and demeanor. Must take initiative for personal growth, learning, and development through continuing education and/or special training. Must remain flexible, open, and adaptable to change. Must understand that regardless of title, each employee has an impact and ownership on patient care and Lower Umpqua Hospital. Work Environment Works indoors in an air-conditioned environment. Physical Demands Frequent use of computer, phone, and other standard office machines. Must be able to stand, sit, stoop, twist, kneel, reach, push, pull using proper body mechanics, and move/lift varying amounts of weight up to a maximum of 50 lbs. Schedule Per diem position.
