About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP, Field Underwriting to lead the strategic and operational aspects of the underwriting function. The successful candidate will be responsible for owning the underwriting P&L, driving underwriting strategy, and ensuring portfolio performance. This role requires a leader with a strong background in workers' compensation underwriting, including a proven track record in operating model design and change leadership. The VP will be instrumental in shaping the company's underwriting priorities, particularly in the context of a technology-forward environment. They will also be tasked with building and leading the Field Underwriting organization, with a focus on recruiting and developing underwriting talent, and establishing a culture of underwriting excellence. Candidates for the VP, Field Underwriting position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree, with an advanced degree being a plus, and at least 15 years of experience in workers' compensation underwriting. A minimum of 10 years in a leadership role within underwriting, with a history of team building and restructuring, is essential. The ideal candidate will have a strong executive presence, be analytically fluent, and possess advanced underwriting credentials such as CPCU or ARe. Experience in a technology-driven underwriting environment, particularly with a focus on AI and automation, is highly valued.
