Litigation Associate Attorney

Latitude is partnering with a Seattle-based law firm with a national practice to identify an associate attorney to join its insurance coverage and complex litigation team. This is a great opportunity for an attorney who enjoys analyzing complex coverage issues, engaging in meaningful litigation work, and collaborating with a strong, supportive team. The role offers exposure to sophisticated matters, hands-on responsibility, and the chance to grow within a dynamic and expanding practice.Attorneys with litigation experience but limited or no prior insurance coverage experience are also encouraged to apply.ResponsibilitiesThe attorney will work closely with a team of experienced litigators and may be involved in all phases of litigation and insurance coverage matters, including:Managing cases from inception through resolutionDrafting pleadings, motions, correspondence, and settlement agreementsConducting legal research and analysis of case law, statutes, regulations, fact patterns, and insurance policy languageReviewing and analyzing claims files, pleadings, discovery materials, and other litigation documentsPreparing for and participating in depositions, mediations, hearings, and meetingsCommunicating with clients, opposing counsel, and expertsAssisting with trial preparationQualificationsJ.D. from an accredited law school2+ years of litigation experience, with insurance coverage experience preferredExperience handling civil litigation tasks, including discovery, motions practice, depositions, and trial preparationStrong writing, analytical, and legal research skillsAbility to manage cases proactively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsLicensed to practice law in WashingtonPosition DetailsType of role: Permanent roleSchedule: Full-TimeLocation: Onsite in the firm’s Seattle office (can be 4 days a week at the office after the first 3 months)CompensationBase Salary: $100,000 - $150,000+, depending on experience and qualifications.The firm offers quarterly billable hour bonuses for attorneys who exceed established billable thresholds, as well as origination bonuses for bringing new clients to the firm.In addition, the firm provides a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan with employer match, profit sharing, bonus opportunities, parental leave, paid holidays, and 20 days of paid time off.Total compensation will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, work experience, credentials, and overall fit for the roleConfidentialityLatitude will not disclose your identity or propose you to prospective clients without your prior consent.
