Mission NORTHEAST DELTA HUMAN SERVICES AUTHORITY MISSION: Serve as a catalyst for individuals with mental health, developmental disabilities, and addictive disorders to help them realize their full human potential by offering quality, excellent care with greater accessibility. Position Overview Social Worker 3 – Intake Specialist at the Reaching Independence through Support and Education (R.I.S.E.) Treatment Center. The incumbent serves as both the primary intake clinician and treating therapist for a small caseload of clients with substance use and co‑occurring behavioral health disorders, balancing admissions responsibilities with sustained therapeutic relationships. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive intakes and assessments, determining the level of care and providing ongoing psychotherapy and treatment planning. Perform initial substance use and mental health screenings (phone, walk‑in, referral‑based). Gather psychosocial, substance use, medical, and treatment history using standardized tools such as ASAM criteria, ASI, SBIRT, LOCUS, and other SUD screening instruments. Explain services, expectations, and next steps to clients. Maintain a non‑judgmental, trauma‑informed, recovery‑oriented approach. Verify insurance, Medicaid, funding eligibility, and referral requirements. Coordinate authorizations and pre‑admission approvals as required. Complete intake documentation accurately and in a timely manner in the EHR. Schedule assessments, admissions, and follow‑up appointments, and communicate admission decisions and timelines to clients and referral sources. Maintain a small caseload of assigned clients, providing individual psychotherapy to clients with substance use and co‑occurring disorders. Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans, delivering evidence‑based and trauma‑informed interventions including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Relapse Prevention, and recovery‑oriented approaches. Monitor client progress, adjust treatment as clinically indicated, and document outcomes. Provide crisis intervention and clinical support as needed. Qualifications Current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Master’s Social Worker (LMSW) or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). A master’s degree in social work followed by at least two years of social services experience. Strong background in addiction services, clinical licensure or license eligibility. Ability to balance admissions responsibilities with sustained therapeutic relationships. Position‑Specific Details Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, Demotion, Lateral Transfer, or Detail to Special Duty. Location: Reaching Independence through Support and Education (R.I.S.E.). Compensation & Benefits The position is at an NHSC‑approved site, making clinicians eligible to apply to the NHSC Loan Repayment Program. For 2‑year full‑time clinical practice, NHSC may pay up to $50,000 for an initial 2 years. Full‑time clinical practice is defined as no less than 40 hours per week, for a minimum of 45 weeks per year.
