The Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue is seeking a dedicated, organized professional with a passion for government transparency to join our team as a Department FOIA Coordinator.
In this role, you will manage incoming public records requests, coordinate with internal departments to retrieve responsive records, and ensure compliance with the Virginia Freedom of Information Act (VFOIA).
The FOIA Coordinator will serve as the central point of contact for public records requests across multiple offices within Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue and will routinely collaborate with the County Attorney's FOIA Officer to respond to multi-agency requests. The successful candidate will possess exceptional attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage requests within strict statutory deadlines. Administrative experience in a legal environment is a plus. The ideal candidate will have experience drafting standard response letters and applying appropriate exemptions when warranted.

Work schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00 am 4:30 pm. Work location is 5 County Complex Ct., Suite 160, Prince William, VA 22192. This position may be eligible for teleworking consideration after a 6-month training period. Flexibility is required as business needs may change.
Starting salary range is $28.32 - $40.69. We also offer great benefits including:
