Job Location: 285 FFL Piggly Wiggly Will-Kris Quincy FL D8 - Quincy, FL 32351 Position Type: Part Time Job Category: Grocery Job Summary The Meat Market Associate is responsible for cleaning the food prep and storage areas in the department in a safe and appropriate manner. This department is where meat cutting, trimming, and preparing meat products for sale in a retail environment is completed. The work environment is cold/refrigerator/freezer areas. Duties Provide continuous attention to customer needs; greet, assist, and thank customers in a prompt, courteous and friendly manner. Offer product suggestions when appropriate. Clean food prep and storage areas where meat inventory has been cut, trim, and prepared as well as mechanical equipment and tools used in the process. Assist with stocking and rotating department products to ensure freshness and date control; restock and use supply items efficiently to eliminate waste and to maintain the lowest supply cost. Clean department equipment and tools in a safe and appropriate manner. Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues and notify store management. Notify management of team member theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized mark-downs, property defacement or any action that is illegal and/or against company policy. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning equipment and utensils. Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines to include maintaining a clean and orderly work area. Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed. Perform other duties as assigned to include stocking, cleaning, etc. Physical Demands Standing for extended periods of time Bending, stooping, lifting, and reaching Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Work Environment Exposure to cold temperatures; refrigerated rooms and walk-in freezers; sharp objects and tools in work area, noisy work environment; PPE required in some areas. Qualifications 18 years of age or older High School Diploma or Equivalent Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently Ability to understand and follow instructions Previous experience cleaning in meat cutting and preparing areas Customer service experience Ability to handle stressful situations Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Effective communication skills Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction) Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation Preferred Experience Excellent Customer Service Attitude and Skills Prior experience in a retail or grocery environment preferred Minimum of 2 years of experience as a meat cutter Excellent knife skills and knowledge of different cuts of meat Strong work ethic and attention to detail Strong communication skills Ability to work flexible hours to include evenings and weekends Pay Depends on experience.
