At Nexus Engineering Group, our Project Managers turn complex refining and chemicals scopes into delivered projects on schedule, on budget, and safely. As a Senior Project Manager, you'll own execution of large, multi-discipline projects for our key Chemicals and Refining clients, leading the team and the client relationship from planning through commissioning, so clients receive the technical excellence Nexus is known for.

What You'll Do

  • Own the project plan, schedule, and budget, developed with the Project Director and stakeholders, and drive the multi-discipline scope to its objectives and timelines.
  • Lead a diverse team of engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, coordinating closely with procurement and construction management.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate project risk before it becomes an issue.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the client, protecting and deepening the relationships Nexus has built.
  • Enforce quality control and champion a strong safety culture across the team.
  • Monitor and control the project budget, find cost savings that don't compromise quality or safety, and report financials to the Project Director.
  • Mentor team members and support their professional growth.
  • Coordinate with regulatory authorities and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Civil/Structural preferred), Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of project management experience on large-scale, multi-discipline chemicals or refining projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Strong technical expertise in chemicals and/or refining, with the ability to oversee complex multi-discipline scopes.
  • Working knowledge of project management software such as MS Project or Primavera P6.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management, with a track record of leading successful project teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or equivalent.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification.
  • Construction and commissioning experience.

Working Conditions

  • Periodic travel for client and project site visits as required.
  • Work performed in a combination of office and active project-site environments; field assignments may involve walking, stooping, kneeling, and climbing stairs and ladders.
  • PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, hi-vis vest, steel-toed boots) provided and required on site.

$140,000 - $185,000 a year The posted base salary range is a good-faith estimate of what Nexus Engineering Group expects to pay for this role at the time of posting. Compensation for all candidates is determined based on experience, qualifications, skill set, certifications, work location, and market conditions. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for medical, dental, and vision coverage; a 401(k) with company match; paid time off with starting accrual based on relevant experience plus 11 paid holidays; life and disability insurance; discretionary bonuses; and participation in our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), providing employees the opportunity to share in the long-term success of the company.
