Veterinary Hospital Shift Lead

VETERINARY HOSPITAL SHIFT LEAD Banfield is looking for a Veterinary Hospital Shift Lead to provide exceptional client and pet experiences while supporting the Practice Manager and/or Chief of Staff (COS) in guiding the team to maximize productivity and profitability of the hospital. The Shift Lead also performs the duties of a Client Services Coordinator and Veterinary Assistant when needed. RESPONSIBILITIES Living and exemplifying the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. Assisting and supporting the hospital leadership in developing an efficient, productive team that provides the highest quality care. Following Banfield protocols and practices, focusing the team to achieve practice priorities while building our culture and brand. Day-to-day supervision of the team, ensuring quality medical care, exceptional client service, associate engagement and maximum productivity. Creating an environment where the team delivers quality, efficient veterinary care and engages associates. Providing professional, efficient and exceptional client service, including client education about Optimum Wellness Plans, preventive care, hospital services, marketing campaigns and related information; effectively resolving client issues. Assisting in scheduling associates to meet client needs, proactively planning time off and CE scheduling. Ensuring compliance with all practice policies and procedures. Ensuring adherence to Banfield dress and grooming guidelines. Performing other job duties as assigned. Comfortable around pets (dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, etc.). Flexible to work special hours including weekends and evening shifts. Strong reasoning, mathematics, reading, writing and speaking English. Comfort with moderate to high noise and strong smells. Capable of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing and carrying up to 50 pounds. Good hand‑eye coordination, arm‑hand‑fingers dexterity, visual acuity for keyboard and equipment use. Vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral and depth perception. Exposure to pets that may bite or scratch and occasional exposure to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, medication and controlled substances. Experience, Education and/or Training High School Diploma preferred. Minimum of two years of veterinary hospital experience. Age 18 years or older.
