Supervisor – Budget & Finance (NMCD #16877) Responsible for managing all administrative and fiscal aspects of both the Reentry Division and the Training Academy. This position oversees procurement, fiscal property management, professional service contract drafting and execution, monitors the budget using SHARE reports, and maintains spreadsheets to track all expenditures. The supervisor maintains daily contact with the Reentry and Training Academy Directors to ensure oversight of expenditures within each division and to support future budget projections. Additionally, the role handles monthly federal grant reconciliation, travel processes, and funding for the Reentry and Academy divisions. The supervisor manages a team of three employees, providing professional development, mentoring, evaluations, and daily supervision. How Does It Get Done? Process requisitions, purchase orders, payment vouchers, travel requests, and travel reimbursements. Update and maintain budget projections, presenting the current fiscal position to division management on a monthly basis. Route and track all personnel transactions. Serve as the program point of contact with the State Personnel Office (SPO). Draft and execute professional service contracts. Supervise employees, including training, evaluations, and discipline procedures. Who Are the Customers? New Mexico Corrections Department. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling five (5) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico driver’s license. A pre‑employment background check is required and conditional upon results. Working Conditions Work is performed in an adult prison environment, which includes daily contact with inmates. Willingness to work in a correctional facility, and availability to work odd hours, overtime, holidays, and weekends, is required.
