Job Summary This role provides administrative direction in the assigned laboratory section. Plan, organize, schedule, and oversee the Chemistry department's activities under the Laboratory Director's direction to optimize staff, equipment, and material use while staying within financial constraints and upholding technical and quality standards. Job Responsibilities Manage the department's operations, assign and distribute tasks, set priorities, and plan non‑routine processes. Perform supervisory functions for assigned staff including interviewing, hiring, training, and providing staff development through performance evaluation and corrective counseling. Perform advanced/specialized tests and other related laboratory techniques; re‑evaluate methodology, make recommended changes, and assist in test interpretation. Complete training and competency checklists as needed. Ensure compliance with all CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory safety regulations. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field from an accredited institution. 7+ years of experience in the Clinical Laboratory field; experience in the Chemistry section is mandatory. Florida Clinical Laboratory Supervisor license is required. Experience performing high‑complexity testing under CLIA guidelines. Strong knowledge of CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory safety standards. Experience handling audits, inspections, and maintaining accreditation standards.
