Summary The Assistant Manager is a position responsible for supporting the Store Manager in achieving all company goals and initiatives through driving sales, developing talent, and delivering execution. It is critical that an Assistant Manager represents the brand, operates professionally, demonstrates exceptional customer service, and drives a consistent message to all team members. Qualifications At least 2 years of manager experience in a specialty retail store with relevant traffic and volume preferred Proficiency in Word, Excel, & PowerPoint, and ability to adapt to additional software programs Broad knowledge and perspective of the retail landscape Availability to work weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) Commitment to two store closings per week, including one being Friday or Saturday Ability to utilize a retail POS system & inventory scanner Proficiency in making change using American monetary units Ability to understand and interpret moderately complex financial reports High School Diploma required or GED Ability to carry out detailed tasks and projects with minimal direction or supervision Ability to problem-solve complex situations efficiently, including dealing with difficult and/or troubled clients Excellent oral and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive working relationships Ability to express ideas clearly and succinctly via email, memos, and reports Work Environment Requires ability to lift large and heavy packages and boxes rapidly and constantly, including loading and unloading large boxes throughout a scheduled shift Able to reach overhead, bend, kneel, and carry product necessary for customer service, inventory restock, processing shipments and store merchandising Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time Must have ability to safely lift 50 lbs. without restrictions Able to regularly perform store maintenance items such as sweeping, vacuuming, emptying trash, cleaning Ability to use and climb ladders and/or step stools Requires ability to perform repetitive motions (e.g., hanging, folding, ringing up customers, etc.) Must use caution when dealing with difficult customers, houseless and/or transients to avoid confrontations Noise level is usually moderate to loud Adult content environment Must be at least 18 years old All job requirements in the job description provided indicate the minimum level of knowledge, skills, and/or abilities deemed necessary to perform the job competently. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Serves as the Manager on Duty, performing responsibilities of the Store Manager when the Store Manager is away from the store Exhibits the interest and the ability to become a Store Manager Works alongside employees at all levels, driving and maintaining high standards by serving as a positive role model to ensure the brand integrity Assists and coaches in training Sales Associates while on the sales floor and monitors compliance for all company SOPs, cultivating an environment of open communication and teamwork Manages rest and meal break schedules and ensures that all zones are covered Fosters a positive work environment and provides direct, honest feedback in a timely manner Assists the Store Manager with managing company standards of merchandise presentations, signage, and displays Escalates performance concerns to the Store Manager Motivates and inspires the associates to build brand loyalty and create a positive store environment for both internal and external customers Assists with store security including checking bags and monitoring fitting rooms Guarantees company assets by ensuring adherence to all loss prevention procedures Ensures that store staff are treated professionally, courteously and respectfully Assists in directing the planning and execution of floor sets in an efficient manner while following company guidelines and encouraging collaboration of ideas among team members Adheres to and ensures compliance with all LP policies Has full understanding/knowledge of inventory management procedures Cultivates an environment of open communication and teamwork Represents the company in a professional and positive manner Inspires and motivates the entire team by sharing knowledge and best practices for sales, merchandising, stocking and inventory processes Other duties as assigned #J-18808-Ljbffr
