SMILE PLUS DENTISTRY seeks a reliable, detail‑oriented Dental Hygiene Assistant to support clinical operations and enhance patient comfort. The role includes preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, assisting with patient care and chairside procedures, taking dental radiographs (X‑ray certification required), and maintaining accurate patient records.

Prepare and maintain treatment rooms and clinical areas between patients
Sterilize and organize instruments, manage supplies, and maintain equipment
Assist dentists and hygienists chairside during procedures
Take and process dental X‑rays (state X‑ray certification required)
Record and update patient medical histories and treatment charts accurately
Provide basic oral hygiene education and reinforce clinician instructions to patients
Maintain clean workspaces and follow infection control and sterilization protocols
Operate and perform basic maintenance on dental and imaging equipment as instructed
Support scheduling and patient flow to promote efficient clinic operations
Requirements
Infection Control License
X‑ray certification valid for practice in Pennsylvania (required)
High school diploma or GED (or equivalent)
Strong attention to detail and commitment to infection control standards
Comfortable working chairside and interacting with patients of all ages
Ability to follow clinical directions, multitask, and work as part of a team
Basic computer skills for patient charting and recordkeeping
Must be able to commute to or relocate to Camp Hill, PA prior to start

Previous experience in a dental office or as a dental assistant or hygiene assistant
Familiarity with dental practice management software and digital imaging systems
Training or certification in sterilization/autoclave procedures
CPR or basic life support certification
