Vice President Commercial Lending

A well-established financial institution with a strong commitment to relationship banking is seeking a VP, Commercial Lender to support continued growth within its commercial banking division. This individual will play a key role in developing new business relationships, expanding existing client partnerships, and managing a substantial existing portfolio while maintaining strong credit quality and exceptional client service. The VP, Commercial Lender will be responsible for originating, underwriting, structuring, and closing commercial loan opportunities while serving as a trusted advisor to business clients throughout the market. This role is ideal for a balanced commercial lender with a strong emphasis on Commercial & Industrial (C&I) lending and a proven ability to develop both lending and deposit relationships. Key Responsibilities Develop, expand, and retain commercial banking relationships through proactive business development efforts Originate and close a minimum of $15MM in annual commercial loan production Develop and grow commercial deposit relationships alongside lending relationships Manage and expand an established commercial loan portfolio while maintaining strong client relationships and asset quality Focus on originating Commercial & Industrial (C&I) lending opportunities while also supporting Commercial Real Estate (CRE) transactions as appropriate Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and credit information to assess borrowing capacity and credit risk Structure and negotiate loan terms, collateral requirements, pricing, and repayment schedules Evaluate loan requests and prepare recommendations for approval Monitor portfolio performance to ensure strong asset quality and adherence to lending policies Review and approve commercial overdrafts and other credit-related requests Cross-sell treasury management, deposit products, and other banking services to strengthen client relationships Stay informed on regulatory and industry changes affecting commercial lending practices Represent the organization through active involvement in business and community organizations Maintain consistent communication with clients regarding financing needs and growth opportunities Participate in community engagement and business development activities Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred 3+ years of commercial banking experience Demonstrated success in business development, relationship management, and loan production Proven ability to generate meaningful commercial loan and deposit growth Strong commercial credit analysis and underwriting expertise Extensive knowledge of Commercial & Industrial (C&I) lending structures, with experience in Commercial Real Estate (CRE) lending Experience structuring and negotiating commercial credit facilities Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and risk management practices Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills Proven problem-solving abilities and sound credit judgment Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Established business network within the Dallas market preferred This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven banking professional seeking a growth-oriented lending role with a respected financial institution that values relationship banking, community involvement, and long-term client success.
