Primary responsibilities include directing the liberal arts tutoring program in the Tutoring Center, including recruiting, mentoring, and teaching peer tutors; drafting and implementing policies and procedures; providing direct support to students; and collecting and analyzing assessment data. This position is also responsible for designing academic support initiatives to increase success for students in underrepresented groups in collaboration with faculty and Academic Support colleagues. It also serves as the academic support liaison to fine arts and liberal arts departments, including promoting best practices in teaching and assessing writing.Job Duties:Directs the Liberal Arts tutoring programAssesses student learning and develops inclusive support practicesDesigns learning resources and facilitates learning for studentsPerforms other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the departmentSalary Range:The salary range for this position is $26.12 to $37.91 hourly.Minimum Qualifications:A bachelor’s degree in English or a relevant field OR at least 2 years’ experience tutoring writing in a higher education settingPreferred Qualifications:A master’s degree in English or a relevant fieldKnowledge of universal/inclusive design and an ability to cultivate an inclusive learning environment for disabled studentsExpertise in writing studies and the ability to ability to support a translingual and linguistically inclusive learning environmentDemonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, religious, gender identity, sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of college students, staff, and facultyStrong oral and written communication skillsPrior administrative experience in an academic support centerFamiliarity with research methodologies in educationSuccessful college classroom teaching experienceRequired Application Materials:Please ensure you have the following items submitted with your application:Resume/CVCover LetterOther RequirementsAll resumes must clearly address the Required Qualifications as stated above.
