Job Overview: If you’re looking for an opportunity to do more than support EHS - if you want to influence it, improve it, and leave your mark on a manufacturing site - this role offers exactly that. As the EHS Specialist, you’ll take ownership of key environmental, health, and safety activities for the plant, balancing hands‑on floor presence with the coordination of training, reporting, compliance administration, occupational health support, visitor controls, purchasing, stock control, business continuity, and improvement projects. You’ll be a trusted partner to plant leadership and a visible resource to employees, helping drive solutions, support safe operations, and review safety considerations tied to projects, contractors, equipment changes, and other plant initiatives. This is a role for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, builds credibility on the shop floor, and wants the visibility, influence, and growth opportunity to help elevate EHS performance across the site. Responsibilities: Implement and enforce company EHS policies and standard work across assigned facilities by developing site‑specific EHS policies, procedures, and programs, including lockout/tagout, machine guarding, PPE, and emergency response. Ensure compliance with company EHS requirements, standard work, and applicable local laws and regulations through routine facility audits, inspections, and follow‑up actions. Manage activities that support compliance with critical EHS programs while helping build and sustain a strong EHS culture. Identify and implement EHS best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives across assigned sites. Manage EHS data entry and reporting within GenSuite, while tracking, maintaining, and organizing all safety and compliance documentation. Track site performance against EHS key performance indicators, using both leading and lagging indicators to monitor performance and identify opportunities for improvement. Conduct incident investigations to identify contributing factors, determine root cause, and implement appropriate actions to prevent recurrence. Monitor workplace safety performance and support ongoing safety and operational improvement initiatives. Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. 3+ years of environmental, health, and safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, supporting site‑level EHS activities in a fast‑paced plant setting. 3+ years of experience supporting EHS reporting, recordkeeping, and data tracking, including use of EHS systems or similar reporting tools. 3+ years of working knowledge of OSHA regulations and practical EHS application. 2+ years of demonstrated ability building relationships and credibility across all levels of an organization, ideally with shop floor employees. 2+ years of experience handling corrective actions, safety improvements, and practical solutions in response to manufacturing environment issues. Core Competencies: Shop Floor Credibility & Influence: Ability to build trust, credibility, and influence with shop floor employees and plant leadership; strong floor presence is a key success factor. Practical OSHA & EHS Expertise: Solid OSHA foundation and practical EHS knowledge, with the ability to serve as the site resource for OSHA, code, and day‑to‑day EHS matters. Environmental Awareness: Basic to moderate environmental knowledge in SDSs, chemical management, and hazardous/non‑hazardous waste exposure. Manufacturing / Plant Safety Support: Experience supporting EHS in a manufacturing or plant environment where safety, production, and operational continuity must work together. Site‑Level EHS Ownership & Reporting: Comfort owning tactical site‑level EHS responsibilities, including monthly reporting, recordkeeping, training support, data tracking, and use of EHS/reporting systems. Bias for Action & Corrective Action Follow‑Through: Ability to respond quickly to daily safety issues, drive corrective actions, solve problems, and move practical safety improvements forward. Cross‑Functional Partnership: Ability to work effectively with operations, maintenance, engineering, contractors, and site leadership on plant projects, equipment moves, contractor review, and broader site decisions. Preferences: Associates or Bachelors Degree concentration in EHS. Experience with Benchmark Gensuite. Certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or related EHS certification / quality systems. Experience in manufacturing environments with paint, or similar production processes. Travel and Work Arrangements: Position based onsite in Sidney, OH. Work Authorization: US Citizen or Permanent Resident. Pay Range: $65,000 - $80,000 annually. What We Offer: At Ingersoll Rand, we embrace a culture of personal ownership - taking responsibility for our company, our communities, and our environment, as well as our individual health and well‑being. Our comprehensive benefits package is designed to empower you with the tools and support necessary to take charge of your health, ensuring that together, we can continue to make life better. Our range of benefits includes health care options like medical and prescription plans, dental and vision coverage, as well as wellness programs. Additionally, we provide life insurance, a robust 401(k) plan, paid time off, and even an employee stock grant, among other offerings. These benefits are our commitment to you, so you can be your best at work and beyond. Equal Opportunity Employment Statement: Ingersoll Rand is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, ancestry, color, family or medical care leave, gender identity or expression, genetic information, marital status, medical condition, national origin, physical or mental disability, political affiliation, protected veteran status, race, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by applicable laws, regulations and ordinances. #J-18808-Ljbffr
