It oversees more than $200M in annual financial activity across non‑research activities, the entire Medicine internal control portfolio, and medical personnel operational performance. This role involves complex financial analysis, planning, forecasting, and reporting for Departmental financial and operational systems and resources across missions. The analyst supports the Associate Director of Fiscal Affairs in delivering high‑quality financial and operational analysis, reports, and may represent the Director in meetings and decision‑making activities. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and proposing innovative solutions for complex financial and operational processes, analytical frameworks, reports, and automation solutions, and evaluating prioritization of activities in alignment with team and organizational objectives. Minimum Qualifications Seven years of related experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in a related area plus three years of related experience/training. Thorough knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems, including budgeting, accounting, and bookkeeping, with applied experience in GAAP, GASB, OMB Uniform Guidance, and IRS pronouncements/directives. Ability to independently gather required information, organize data, and perform financial analysis assignments with limited oversight in a large, complex organizational environment. Proven ability to present information verbally and in writing clearly and concisely to stakeholders of varied levels and technical knowledge. Advanced skills in spreadsheet and database software for complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reporting; proficiency in Excel, PowerQuery, and database solutions using advanced formulas and programming. Strong interpersonal skills, service orientation, critical thinking, attention to detail, and educational skills to support mentorship and collaboration across diverse backgrounds. Ability to adapt to changing priorities, multitask, and manage high‑volume responsibilities under pressure and dynamic deadlines. Knowledge of internal control practices, including IIA/COSO frameworks, and experience applying internal controls in financial analysis and reporting. Working knowledge of financial, budget, and data systems within a complex, multi‑disciplinary institution, with the ability to identify, interpret, and present solutions for complex anomalies. Solid understanding of financial and resource planning concepts, budget control, and multi‑specialty budget management, including variance analysis and corrective actions. Intermediate experience in developing and analyzing financial reports, such as the income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows. Knowledge of relevant databases, BI applications, and tools for producing high‑quality reports and documentation under direction and supervision.
