Job description
SAP Data Management Lead
The SAP Data Management Lead is responsible for defining, governing, and delivering end-to-end data management activities across SAP transformation, implementation, migration, and ongoing operations. The role ensures that SAP master and transactional data is accurate, complete, compliant, and fit for business use across processes, systems, and reporting landscapes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead SAP data management strategy, governance, standards, and execution across SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, and integrated enterprise systems.
- Own data migration planning and delivery, including data extraction, profiling, cleansing, mapping, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and load readiness.
- Define and enforce data quality rules, controls, issue management processes, and governance workflows across master data and transactional data objects.
- Partner with business process owners, functional teams, technical teams, and system integrators to confirm data scope, ownership, dependencies, and acceptance criteria.
- Drive data readiness for mock loads, cutover cycles, user acceptance testing, go-live, and post-go-live stabilisation.
- Establish data migration and data governance documentation, including object inventories, mapping specifications, validation rules, reconciliation reports, and audit evidence.
- Monitor data risks, defects, dependencies, and remediation actions, ensuring timely escalation and resolution.
- Lead workshops with business and technology stakeholders to align data requirements with process, reporting, integration, and compliance needs.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and quality assurance for data analysts, migration consultants, functional SMEs, and offshore or nearshore delivery teams.
- Continuously improve data management practices by introducing reusable templates, automation opportunities, data quality dashboards, and best-practice standards.
