Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Cook and Security role based at KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology in Coimbatore. The Cook responsibilities include preparing daily meals for students and staff, maintaining hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen, managing basic inventory of ingredients, and coordinating with the team to ensure timely food service. The Security responsibilities involve monitoring entry and exit points, patrolling campus areas, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and reporting any unusual or unsafe activity to the appropriate authorities. The role also requires following institutional policies, supporting emergency procedures, and working in shifts as needed to ensure consistent food service and campus safety. Qualifications Ability to prepare simple, nutritious meals and follow basic recipes while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety. Knowledge of kitchen operations, including safe handling of equipment, proper storage of ingredients, and waste management practices. Basic security skills such as campus patrolling, monitoring access points, and responding calmly to incidents or emergencies. Strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to follow established procedures and institutional guidelines. Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, staff, and other team members. Physical fitness sufficient for standing for long periods, moving supplies, and conducting regular security rounds. Prior experience in cooking, catering, security, or facility support roles is an advantage. Willingness to work in shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays as required.
