LOCATION: Koppel - Pennsylvania - USA DEPARTMENT: HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT
Is responsible for coordinating and supporting Health, Safety, Environmental, and Sustainability (HESA) activities within the facility to ensure compliance with company standards, legal requirements, and continuous improvement objectives.
Minimum 5 years of HSE experience in heavy industry, steel, metals, manufacturing, or similar industrial environments. Bachelor's degree in Safety, HSE, Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field preferred. Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance, and industrial risk management practices. Experience with incident investigations, audits, corrective actions, and safety management systems. Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 systems preferred. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Corporate teams.
Combination of office and shop floor presence within an active industrial environment. Regular interaction with operations, maintenance, engineering, contractors, and leadership teams. Significant time spent in operational areas supporting observations, audits, investigations, and employee engagement. Rare travel required for audits, training, or business support activities. Occasional after-hours support, emergency response, and on-call coverage as operational needs require. Must be able to work in industrial environments requiring PPE and exposure to heat, noise, dust, and moving equipment.
Ability to walk throughout industrial facilities and access elevated work areas. Ability to wear required PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety footwear. Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
