Location: ORLANDO, FLORIDA (IN-OFFICE) Job Summary: Trileaf is seeking a full‑time Environmental Senior Project Scientist to conduct field work to conduct migratory bird evaluations, gopher tortoise surveys, and wetland delineations in Florida. This position is based in our Maitland, (Orlando) Florida office. Essential Job Functions: Perform Gopher Tortoise surveys and any necessary permitting. Perform ecological field investigations for wetlands inventories and any necessary permitting with state/local agencies such as water management districts and federal agencies such as the US Army Corps of Engineers. Gathering, analyzing, and interpreting scientific data. Assist in preparing reports in support of projects, including protected species and natural habitat assessments, environmental impacts, and biological evaluations. Perform routine and sometimes complex tasks related to field data collection, including preparing and transcribing field notes. Ability to conduct a preliminary screening of listed and/or proposed threatened and endangered species and critical habitat. Review publicly available databases such as the National Wetlands Inventory and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Flood Insurance Rate Maps.
