Job Title: Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST) Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: CST Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x10-Hour Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required. License: VA or other state license required. If holding an out-of-state license, must obtain a VA state license with a 90-day authorization. Certifications: BLS, NBSTSA, NCCT, or military OR Tech certification accepted. Must-Have: Strong experience in general surgery, orthopedics (total joints), and neurosurgery is required. Big belly, crani, and orthopedic trauma experience is highly preferred. Robotic training is highly preferred. Description: The position requires the candidate to demonstrate proficiency in general surgery, orthopedic surgery, and neurosurgery. Standard shift hours are 4x10s from 11 AM to 9 PM, with a random day off. The candidate may be required to take call and work occasional weekends and holidays. Weekend rotation with staff is expected. Must work one holiday per 13-week contract. This role involves working in a Level I trauma operating room with a diverse patient population including neonates, adolescents, and geriatrics. The environment features 25 operating rooms with on-site nursing coverage available 24/7. Special procedures and equipment include robotic surgery systems and advanced imaging technologies. Candidates are required to provide all requests for time off upfront. Compliance documents will be required prior to starting. Local candidates are not accepted for this position.
