Job Description As a Banking Service Professional, the Personal Banker will provide effective support of sales and service activities within the banking office, developing new business by educating existing and potential clients and exemplifying Valley's quality service standards. Provides a variety of banking solutions by analyzing needs, recommending solutions and selling bank products and services to existing and potential clients. Provide exceptional customer service and engage customers with friendly and professional service. Know all bank products and services and educate customers, including cross‑selling. Present a confident and professional demeanor, establish trust, analyze needs and recommend appropriate products and services. Meet with customers to analyze financial needs, maximize sales opportunities, offer all bank products, open new accounts (checking, savings, CD, IRA), and discuss/sell loan products; demonstrate online/mobile banking. Meet customer expectations and achieve service quality standards; participate in sales referral process; coach and mentor branch staff. Perform all customer transactions using appropriate technology; maintain and balance a cash box; utilize Teller Scanning Equipment, Cash Recycling and Dispensing machines, and coin machines. Act as Vault Teller: ensure branch cash adequacy, assist in ordering and shipping currency and distribute cash to Tellers. Assist in community events, support CRA initiatives, activities and programs. Report significant matters and unusual customer activity to Manager; maintain knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements. Maintain knowledge of the Bank's Code of Conduct and all policies and procedures. Requirements Required Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication; write correspondence and accurately demonstrate products and services. Excellent interpersonal – customer service skills, attentiveness, information retention, tact, diplomacy. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills. Ability to make sound decisions, weigh customer satisfaction versus bank risk, rationalize decisions. Interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or scheduled form. Deep understanding of Retail Banking, strong Customer Service Skills, engage customers regarding products and services. Detail oriented, strong organizational skills, high accuracy. Manage multiple projects simultaneously. Required Experience: High School diploma or GED and minimum 1 year of business services experience in branch banking or successful completion of a Valley Retail training program. Associate or Bachelor's degree with concentration in accounting, business, finance, economics or related field is preferred. Preferred Experience: FIS/IBS (Integrated Banking Solutions).
