Shift Hours: 5:00 am - 5:30 pm

Days: Friday Saturday Sunday

36 hours worked - Paid for 40 hours

(Training Hours: 5:00 am - 3:30 pm Monday - Thursday)

Starting Wage: $32.36/hr

This position reportsto the QualitySupervisor. TheNDTInspector Intermediatewill evaluate the assembly of fabricated materials by dimensional checks visual inspection of welds and conduct nondestructive testing by ultrasonic mag particle and liquid penetrantprocesseswith knowledge working under a fully certifiedLevel II for coordination of the Quality area to meet production goals. Completes daily paperwork. Demonstrates a commitment to quality productivitysafetyand environmental policies. Responsible for communication within the work group ensuring teamwork and a productive work environment. Working with the production supervisor tomaintainworkflow of the area and report issues to the supervisor. Evaluate examination results anddetermineif material meets contract specifications. Responsible for generating andmaintainingNDT reports and records forcompanyand contractors.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for testing and evaluation with absolute integrity of products to ensure conformance to company and customer specifications
• Makesdecisionin the area ofcodes (includesAWS D1.1) and specifications.
• Interprets reports for NDT andquality acceptance.
• Actively mentors Entry level NDT Inspectors which includesmonitoring and documenting OJT progress
• Has the authority to reject material stop work inprocessetc. to minimizefinancial lossand risk of customer dissatisfaction.
• Works under production conditions withaccurateperformance and completion of work within set time limits
• Accountable and responsible for essential tools and equipment provided along with the maintenance of these tools to include calibration
• Activelyparticipatein department safetydemonstrateexcellent safety practices and behaviors which conform to all Valmont safety policies and procedures
• Maintaintimelyand consistent attendance
• This position reportsto the Quality Supervisorand has no direct reports.

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education Experience KnowledgeSkillsand Abilities):

• Level IINDT certifications or be able to obtain Level II certification within agreed upon time by Valmont
• A high awarenessforsafety at all times.
• High School diploma and 5 years of work/educational experience orAssociates Degreewith 2years experienceorBachelorsDegree
• 2 years experience in fabricated steel environment
• Ability to perform basic mathematic calculations including conversion of fractions to decimals
• Ability to use basic measuring tools such as tape measure calipers fillet weld gauges and levels (digital and conventional) to ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Ability tooperateNDT testing equipment.
• Ability to work effectively with plant employees supervisorsmanagementand customers.
• Ability to prioritize workin order tocomplete deadlines. Must also be able to work throughproblemwith theminimumamount ofassistancefrom the lead person or supervisor.
• Ability to worktimelyand expeditiously to deliver an on-time result without errors.
• A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

• 6years experience in fabricated steel environment
• Associates Degreein NDT from an accredited school
• SNT-TC-1ANDT Level IIin UT VT MT and PT
• AWSCWI certification
• Competence in basic quality assurance disciplines including the use of dimensional inspection and gauging equipment
• AWS certification
• Passion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional result

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:

Work is typically performed in a manufacturing plant environment and the incumbent needs to be able to move about the office shipping area and all areas of the plant whichare producingproductlinefor the company. There is arelatively constantexposure tosomewhat disagreeablework conditions such as dust dirt heat fumes and cold as well as noise levels above 80decibels. Work conditions vary throughout the week depending on the area of the plant assigned to work in. There will be visits to both indoor and outdoor locations during all seasons of the year.

Many of the tasks are physical and the incumbent has to be able to lift up to 50 lbs. although the most frequent amount of weight lifted is 20 lbs. The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and incumbent isfrequentlyrequired to stand walk sit use hands to finger handle feel as well as balance stoop kneel crouch talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision peripheral vision and depth perception.
