Job description

Senior Program Coordinator

Sanctuary for Families is New York's leading service provider and advocate for survivors of domestic violence, sex trafficking and related forms of gender violence. Every year, Sanctuary empowers thousands of adults and children to move from fear and abuse to safety and stability, transforming lives through a comprehensive range of services. We provide a range of wrap-around services to help survivors rebuild their lives in the aftermath of abuse, and work to end gender violence through three key strategies: direct services, outreach and training, and systems-change advocacy. Our services are available in 12 locations throughout New York City.

Sanctuary for Families (SFF) is seeking a full-time Senior Program Coordinator to implement and oversee the Sanctuary for Families Technology Facilitated Abuse Clinic (STAC). STAC is modeled on Cornell Tech's Clinic to End Tech Abuse (CETA), which utilizes skilled volunteers to assist gender-based violence survivors with tech abuse by assessing cybersecurity risks of cell phones, emails, apps, geolocation devices, and other technology. The position will work with partner agencies, CETA staff, and volunteers, as well as providing direct services to survivors of technology-facilitated intimate partner violence (IPV). Other responsibilities will include creating and conducting tech safety training for partners and volunteers, coordinating the creation and dissemination of community resources, and promoting awareness and education around technology-facilitated abuse. The ideal candidate will possess several years of experience in program coordination, operations delivery, and/or case management services for intimate partner violence (IPV) survivors using client-centered and trauma-informed approaches, including safety planning and advocacy, and will have familiarity with technology-facilitated abuse. Comprehensive training on technology-facilitated abuse and tech safety will be provided.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate volunteer program that assists gender-based violence survivors with tech abuse by assessing cybersecurity risks of cell phones, emails, apps, geolocation devices, and other technology.
  • Conduct and coordinate client intake and screening to assess clients' needs and and appropriateness for clinic services
  • Coordinate case management with SFF, CETA staff, volunteers, and partner agencies
  • Conduct appointments with clients to assist with technology-facilitated abuse
  • Assess and refer clients in need of mental health services
  • Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers, ensuring meeting standards for security and privacy protocols and trauma-informed care
  • Coordinate and maintain internal and external partnerships
  • Collaborate internally with data team to develop and update digital tracking of services
  • Maintain digital records of services provided to clients
  • Create and coordinate dissemination of public resources for partners and survivors
  • Coordinate with volunteer program staff around recruiting, training, and sustaining CETA's volunteers
  • Develop and deliver tech safety trainings for partner organizations and survivor groups
  • Participate in community events, outreach, panels, etc. to grow awareness of tech safety
  • Assist Development Department with grants and funding proposals and reports as needed
  • Assist with developing STAC implementation plan at SFF; helps support creation of documentation/protocols/policies and infrastructure needed to support the STAC transition to SFF
  • Attends required meetings at Sanctuary for Families
  • Perform any other department of agency-related duties or special projects as directed by supervisors

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field
  • 2+ years of relevant experience, preferably with survivors of intimate partner violence

  • Strong public speaking/presentation skills
  • Experience with advocacy for domestic violence, intimate partner violence, or related area
  • Ability to work with a wide range of professionals, including information technology professionals, volunteers, and IPV advocates (social workers, case managers, etc.)
  • Knowledge of or strong interest in and comfort with technology and tech safety. While full training and support on technology-facilitated abuse and tech safety will be provided, candidates must feel comfortable navigating basic technology and be motivated to upscale their skills and knowledge
  • Comfort with delivering trauma-informed and culturally competent services to IPV survivors and working with NYC's diverse communities
