About Us

Welcome to Gen Brooklyn! We are a casual dining restaurant located in the heart of Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, dedicated to serving comforting, Japanese cuisine.

Right now is an incredibly exciting time to join our small, close-knit team. We are currently in a dynamic phase of growth—actively refining our internal operations, streamlining our workflows, and elevating our hospitality to take our dining experience to the next level. We aren't just looking for someone to run food; we are looking for a collaborative partner who wants to be a part of this journey. We are a passionate work-in-progress, and we want someone who is excited to help us build, shape, and smooth out our daily systems so we can grow together. Every team member here has a voice and a hand in our success.

We are seeking a Server with a basic knowledge or true appreciation of Japanese cuisine, who thrives during phases of growth and wants to build something great with us for the long term.

What We Offer:

What We're Looking For
  • Experience & Interest: Prior front-of-house or serving experience along with a basic understanding or genuine appreciation of Japanese food.
  • The Right Attitude: A warm, self-driven, curious mindset with a genuine desire to connect with guests and a high sense of responsibility.
  • Collaboration & Flexibility: Open-mindedness is key as we refine our service steps. We value excellent communication and the ability to receive feedback and direction maturely.
  • Operational Excellence: Punctuality, a strong work ethic, a natural sense of urgency, and a calm, friendly professionalism in a fast-paced dining room.
  • An Eye for Detail: High standards for cleanliness, table organization, and overall presentation.
  • Big Picture Vision: Someone with ambitious, long-term goals in the hospitality industry who wants to grow alongside our restaurant.
