Associate Director of Transfer Admission
The Associate Director of Transfer Admission is responsible for recruiting undergraduate transfer students and reviewing their applications for admission, with a focus on in-state transfer students from the SC Technical College system and 2-year institutions. Acts as a knowledgeable resource for inquiries from various sources regarding the admissions process for transfer students at the College of Charleston. Serves as the liaison between the Registrar's Office (particularly the Pre-Transfer Advisor), New Student Programs, Academic Advising, Marketing and Communication, and Undergraduate Admission. Leads a transfer team of two direct reports.
Minimum Requirements - Bachelor's degree and at least three years of professional work experience in higher education admissions required, preferably with transfer admissions. Master's degree preferred but not required. Required to have a SC driver's license (or the ability to obtain one) and the ability to lift and carry 25-30 lbs. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to represent the institution professionally with a wide range of individuals, including prospective students, colleagues, staff, faculty, and parents. Must be detail oriented and be able to manage multiple deadlines and a high-volume workload. Knowledge of best practices in transfer admissions andFERPAregulations helpful. Salesforce/TargetX experience is desirable. Should be highly functional with Microsoft Office, basic databases, and electronic file transfer. Must possess excellent written and oral communication abilities and exhibit strong interpersonal skills. Strong supervisory skills and abilities.
Job Duties
Activity - Review and evaluate transfer applicant files in an accurate and timely manner, review academic credentials and make recommendations on admission decisions as mandated by CofC's undergraduate admissions standards including data entry, tracking, reporting, and analysis in the Customer Relations Management system (i.e. TargetX).

Activity - Personnel Management: The Associate Director will lead the transfer admissions team. Supervise two direct reports: Full-time Assistant Director for Transfer and part-time transfer admission coordinator. Develop, plan and implement specific projects with direct reports while managing their schedules, processes, and performance.

Activity - Recruit undergraduate transfer students by attending community/technical college visits, college fairs, and other transition services programs and events while documenting contact with prospective students via telephone, email, mail, and in-person visits. Serve as primary contact for prospective transfer students throughout the admissions process, while providing appropriate referrals to the Registrar's Office.

Activity - Contributes to the creation of transfer student events, marketing and recruitment materials to increase application submissions and generate interest in CofC from prospective students and advisors at two-year institutions.

Activity - Assist with the daily operations of the Office of Admissions through presentations, meetings with prospective students, on/off campus events, campus tours, and community events.

Activity - Coordinate activity between the Office of Admissions, New Student Programs, Registrar's Office, the Office of Financial Aid and Veterans Affairs to facilitate a seamless transfer experience for students from pre-admission through matriculation. Complete special projects as assigned by the Office of Admissions.
