Plumber I

The Plumber I is an entry-level position typically requiring little to no prior knowledge or experience to assist with routine and standard projects and assignments within the Plumbing family. Works under close supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Install repair and maintain plumbing systems including pipes fixtures drains and water heaters.
• Conduct inspections of plumbing systems to identify and diagnose issues or defects.
• Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to plan plumbing system layouts and installations.
• Collaborate with clients contractors and other team members to discuss project requirements and timelines.
• Estimate materials equipment and labor costs for plumbing projects.
• Carry out installations and repairs of plumbing fixtures such as sinks toilets showers and water heaters.
• Cut thread and bend pipes using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Clean up job sites and ensure proper disposal of waste materials.
• Weld solder or join pipes using approved methods.
• Test plumbing systems for leaks and ensure proper functioning.
• Troubleshoot plumbing problems and provide effective solutions.
• Adhere to plumbing codes regulations and safety standards.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior plumbers and helpers.
• Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
• Coordinate with suppliers to procure plumbing materials and equipment.

• Uses and maintains appropriatepersonal protective equipment (PPE) as prescribed by company program(s) or procedure(s)
• Never removes or renders ineffective anysafety guards devices or clothingprescribed to be in place or worn
• Complies with thegeneral rulesas prescribed by company program(s) procedure(s)
• Operatesdevises or equipmentas prescribed by company program(s) or procedure(s)
• Participates in anysafety initiatives teams or committees
• Reports allinjuries or incidentsas prescribed by company program(s) or procedure(s) immediately
• Provides input on developingsafety initiatives and plansto eliminate exposures that could cause accidents

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a plumbing apprenticeship program is preferred.
• Proven experience as a Plumber Helper or Apprentice or similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of plumbing codes regulations and best practices.
• Proficiency in interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of plumbing systems materials and tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Effective communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects.
• Valid plumbinglicense/certificationis preferred.
• Valid drivers license.

Working Conditions:

• This position involves physical labor and may require working in confined spaces or at heights.
• Work may be performed indoors or outdoors depending on the project.
• Exposure to various weather conditions including heat cold and humidity.
• May be required to work in hazardous environments or with potentially dangerous materials.
• Availability to work evenings weekends and on-call shifts as needed.

Minimum Experience: 0 - 2 years Minimum Education: High School Diploma/GED
