Peer Support Specialist (Foster Care) Location: Winston Salem, NC Field: Field‑based role primarily operating in client sites or designated locations, with occasional office attendance for meetings or training. This approach ensures flexibility, responsiveness to client needs, and direct, hands‑on engagement. Responsibilities Engage with community partners and build strategy with local stakeholders; provide education, strengthen relationships, and help resolve case or broader systems issues. Support care coordination teams and connect members and caregivers with experts who can provide insight and expertise to overcome challenges. Identify opportunities for engagement of members, their caregivers and families to share with the care management team. Partner with peer support services in the community to create referral pathways and link members to appropriate community peer support services. Support care managers as they advocate for foster parents and other caregivers, addressing their needs or challenges with various agencies and systems. Develop strategy for peer support programs. Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum two (2) years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience that provides an equivalent background. Preferred Skills and Experiences Experience working with foster youth.
