As an Armed Security Officer Commercial Building in Brooklyn, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $33.70 / Hour

DayTimeSat03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, passengers, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate personnel and/or public emergency services when needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of stations, platforms, entrances, parking areas, offices, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
• Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify credentials when required, and document unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and/or security-related incidents in accordance with site procedures.
• Maintain a visible armed presence while following post orders, reporting requirements, and applicable laws and/or regulations related to government transportation operations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a concealed carry weapons permit.
• Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
• Possess an armed guard card/license.
• Provide proof of high school diploma/GED as required by the client.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
