As a Part-Time Recreation Associate I at the Cortez Recreation Center, you will play a vital role in supporting the facility's diverse operations. This entry-level, multipurpose position involves assisting with programming and ensuring the smooth functioning of various areas, including the gymnasium, fitness center, walking track, racquetball courts, meeting rooms, and locker rooms. You will also lend support to the front desk and aquatic center, while helping with maintenance and cleaning tasks as needed. To thrive as a Part-Time Recreation Associate I at the Cortez Recreation Center, candidates must possess a strong set of skills focused on customer service and safety. Outstanding customer service is essential, as you'll be the friendly face welcoming visitors and assisting them with their needs. Effective communication skills are vital for interacting with the public and collaborating with co-workers. A good knowledge of city activities will enhance your ability to engage with community members.

You should be safety-minded, ready to promptly address unsafe situations, and able to lift and move equipment like spin bikes, tables, and chairs. Additionally, you will be required to learn the operation of various facilities and equipment, including fitness equipment and sports setups. Finally, obtaining First Aid/CPR/AED certification within 90 days of hire is a vital aspect of ensuring the safety of all patrons at the Recreation Center.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

• Must be able to provide outstanding customer service
