SUMMARY: To assist and support the Site Leader in implementing a well-planned and organized child care program. The position includes the supervision and engagement of children to ensure a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : This class specification lists the major duties and requirements of the job and is not all-inclusive. Assist the Site Leader in planning, implementing and carrying out daily activities. Actively engage and participate in games, projects, and activities, serving as a positive role model and leader. Maintain program supplies and communicate with the Site Leader when additional materials are needed. Communicate any concerns, incidents, or unusual situations to the Site Leader and/or Coordinator. Attend staff meetings and recommended training programs to meet in-service training requirements. Promote teamwork, excellent customer service, and a positive image of the program to colleagues, students, families, and the community. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with district and program policies. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and Experience: High School Diploma/GED At least 18 years of age. One (1) year experience working with young children (approximately 1,040 hours), preferred. Required Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and certificates being maintained in active status without suspension or revocation. Current First Aid and CPR certification (Candidates who are not currently certified will complete required training after hire to obtain certification.) Required Knowledge: District policies and procedures. Confidentiality requirements related to students and families. Basic understanding of emergency response and incident reporting protocols. Required Skills: Ability to support individual students while maintaining effective large-group supervision. Clear and professional communication with supervisors, coworkers, students and families. Demonstrate reliability and accountability when responding to daily tasks and unexpected circumstances.
