Adjunct Instructor - ECE Department: Electrical and Computer Engineering Reports To: Department Chair Position Type: Faculty Position Summary: The Helen and John C. Hartmann Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering has an ongoing need for Adjunct Professors to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with focus in Photonics, Nano and Quantum Materials and Devices (PNMD), Communication, Signal Processing and Machine Intelligence (CSM), Computer Systems and Networking (CSNW), Energy, Power Systems, and Sustainability (EPSS) or Robotics, Intelligent Systems, Data Engineering (RID). Essential Functions Develop and deliver lectures. Prepare and grade assignments. Design laboratory experiments (if needed). Examine student learning. Learn and use online course management system - Canvas. Submit grades to the registrar at the end of the semester. Prerequisite Qualifications M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field. At the university's discretion the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bargaining Unit AFT-UCAN Salary Information In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the rate for this position is $2668 per contact hour (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
