Job description

Instructor – KIPP Atlanta ACT College Readiness Program (Part-Time) Department: Instructional Operations Employment Type: Part Time Location: Atlanta Compensation: $1,200 / week Description MasteryPrep is seeking a highly motivated, student-centered Instructor/Tutor to support the KIPP Atlanta ACT College Readiness Program. This role is designed for the educator who is passionate about helping high school students build the academic skills, confidence, and test-taking strategies necessary for success on the ACT and beyond. You will deliver engaging small-group instruction, provide targeted intervention based on student performance data, facilitate after-school academic support, and collaborate with school staff to ensure students receive consistent, high-quality instruction aligned to program goals. This position emphasizes relationship-building, instructional excellence, and a commitment to improving student outcomes. Primary Responsibilities Deliver engaging ACT-focused instruction using MasteryPrep curriculum and instructional resources. Facilitate small-group and whole-group lessons focused on: English Reading Mathematics Science Differentiate instruction to address varying student needs and skill levels. Utilize gradual release instructional strategies (I Do, We Do, You Do). Incorporate high-impact instructional practices that promote student engagement and mastery. Provide targeted intervention based on assessment and classroom data. Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly. Reinforce foundational skills while preparing students for college readiness assessments. Support students during designated intervention periods and structured practice sessions. Facilitate ACT-focused curriculum instruction with student groups from 4:15 - 5:15pm. Maintain a positive, motivating learning environment that encourages consistent attendance and participation. Develop positive relationships with students that promote academic growth and personal confidence. Foster an encouraging classroom culture built on high expectations and student ownership. Encourage attendance, participation and goal-setting throughout the program. Collaborate with school leadership, teachers, counselors, and MasteryPrep staff. Participate in planning meetings, coaching sessions, and professional development. Communicate student progress and instructional needs appropriately. Arrive prepared and on time for all instructional assignments. Maintain accurate attendance and instructional documentation. Utilize MasteryPrep instructional resources with fidelity. Demonstrate professionalism in communication, appearance, and interactions with students and staff. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Required Bachelor's Degree (Education or related field preferred) Previous classroom teaching and/or tutoring experience Experience working with middle or high school students Strong instructional and classroom management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to build positive relationships with diverse student populations Reliable transportation Current or former certified teacher Experience teaching ACT, SAT, or college readiness curriculum Experience with intervention programs Experience using student assessment data to drive instruction Experience working in urban school settings Desired Skills Student-centered instructional practices Strong relationship-building skills Growth mindset Adaptability Professionalism Collaboration Effective communication Organization and time management Data-informed instructional decision making Professional Expectations Demonstrate a commitment to educational equity and student success. Maintain confidentiality regarding student information. Represent MasteryPrep professionally at all times. Exhibit flexibility in meeting the evolving needs of the program. Participate fully in all required onboarding, training, and coaching sessions.
