Position Overview
We are seeking a strategic, entrepreneurial, and relationship-driven Director of Events to join our team. This role is responsible for driving event revenue, cultivating client relationships, creating exceptional guest experiences, and developing successful events across our portfolio of restaurants and venues. This role is very hands-on, with selling being a predominant part of the day-to-day. This is not a remote role.
This position requires a minimum of 6 years experience in Restaurant Event Sales. Base salary (based on experience): $120-$160K + sales commissionsResponsibilities
- Generate new business through strategic outreach, networking, referrals, and relationship development to increase event revenue across all restaurant concepts.
- Build, manage, and grow a diverse pipeline of event business spanning corporate functions, social celebrations, private dining, full-venue buyouts, and other special events.
- Develop creative event offerings, seasonal promotions, and customized experiences that enhance guest satisfaction while driving profitability.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team on promotional campaigns, digital content, partnerships, and initiatives that increase event visibility and lead generation.
- Manage the complete event sales process from initial inquiry and proposal preparation through contract negotiation, planning, execution, invoicing, and post-event follow-up.
- Partner with operations teams to ensure every event is executed seamlessly and reflects the organization's hospitality standards and brand identity.
- Analyze event pricing, venue utilization, service offerings, and operational efficiencies to identify opportunities for revenue growth.
- Champion the continued growth and financial success of the private events and catering business across all locations.
- Achieve established sales objectives through consistent prospecting, accurate forecasting, and performance reporting.
- Monitor and report on monthly, quarterly, and annual sales performance while identifying strategies for continued improvement.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in event sales within upscale or luxury restaurants, hospitality, or lifestyle brands.
- Demonstrated track record of consistently growing private dining and special event revenue.
- Experience overseeing event sales for multiple venues or restaurant locations is preferred.
- Established relationships with corporate clients, meeting planners, event professionals, concierge networks, and hospitality partners are highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities with the capacity to balance multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to support business demands
