About this Position
The School of Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) within the College of Engineering Architecture and Technology (CEAT) is seeking an Administrative Support Specialist. This position serves as the primary point of contact for students faculty staff and external visitors providing front desk reception and general administrative support.
The Administrative Support Specialist is responsible for processing faculty and student travel requests and vouchers; planning coordinating and scheduling school-related meetings events and functions; and assisting with the maintenance of IEM calendars and service accounts. This position also supports departmental communication efforts by helping to maintain and update website content social media accounts marketing materials and the departmental newsletter. Additionally the role assists in maintaining departmental records related to current students and alumni.
The work schedule may extend beyond regular office hours of 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday to Friday as necessary to perform job duties and complete work assignments.
Required Qualifications
- High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
Administrative Support Specialist I:1 year of clerical/customer service experience.
Administrative Support Specialist II: 2 years of clerical/customer service experience.
Senior Administrative Support Specialist:3 years of clerical/customer service experience.
Post-secondary education may substitute for years of required experience.
Certifications Registrations and/or Licenses:
Completion of Ambassador Program after hire.
Skills Proficiencies and/or Knowledge:
Ability to work effectively with faculty staff visitors students and all campus support areas. The ability to work independently using judgement and initiative. Must be able to handle confidential information with discretion. Computer skills include: Microsoft Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Access etc) and database software. Help in maintaining office equipment.
