Job description

Senior Construction Project Manager

Location: Candidate must be located in the Bay Area, CA area.

About Frontline Wildfire Defense:

Founded in 2017, Frontline developed the first fully integrated wildfire defense system to stop the leading cause of home loss in wildfires: ember-driven ignition. The system combines exterior sprinklers, full-coverage design, and connected software for remote monitoring and response, allowing homes to protect themselves long after families evacuate or infrastructure fails. Proven effective during the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires, 96% of homes with Frontline systems survived. That success has earned top industry recognition, including Frontline being recognized as one of TIME's Best Inventions 2025 in the Green Tech category and receiving the PCBC Gold Nugget Award for "Most Innovative Housing Concept" and the Best of IBS Award for "Best Home Technology." As wildfires grow hotter and more frequent, our vision is to give people the tools and strategies to live safely with fire. We're building a mission-driven team creating real-world solutions in wildfire safety and climate tech.

About This Opportunity:

As a Senior Construction Project Manager, you will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of Frontline's wildfire defense system installations at scale. You'll oversee a growing portfolio of residential projects, ensuring every installation meets the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance. This is a senior leadership role with direct impact on operations strategy, team development, and company growth. The ideal candidate is an experienced construction leader who thrives in dynamic environments, brings deep field and operational expertise, and is passionate about building resilient, climate-ready infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end construction and installation of Frontline Wildfire Defense systems, from preconstruction through completion.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, timelines, and resource plans across multiple concurrent sites.
  • Implement scalable construction processes, project tracking systems, and reporting frameworks to support rapid growth.
  • Partner with engineering and design teams to refine system layouts, installation standards, and field documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement across supply chain, logistics, and inventory management to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Standardize best practices for quality control, jobsite safety, permitting, and compliance with local fire and building codes.
  • Oversee site audits, design reviews, and as-built documentation to ensure technical and regulatory compliance.
  • Recruit, train and mentor project managers.
  • Cultivate a high-performance, safety-first culture focused on accountability, craftsmanship, and customer experience.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations to continuously improve team expertise and efficiency.
  • Build capacity through subcontractor and vendor partnerships while maintaining strong alignment with Frontline's standards and mission.
  • Work closely with engineers and product teams to improve system design, installation processes, and performance.
  • Develop technical documentation and training materials to support internal teams and customers and support national expansion.
  • Implement best practices in project tracking, reporting, and financial forecasting.
  • Provide operational feedback that informs design enhancements, software integration, and system reliability improvements.
  • Serve as the senior liaison between homeowners, general contractors, inspectors, and local agencies.
  • Support sales and business development teams in technical scoping, site assessments, and client consultations.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through clear communication, proactive problem-solving, and quality execution.

Qualifications

Must-Have:

  • 10+ years of experience in construction project management, preferably in residential or fire protection systems.
  • 3+ years of experience in a senior or supervisory capacity.
  • Proven success delivering residential, fire protection, or mechanical system projects with complex permitting and inspection requirements.
  • Deep understanding of plumbing, fire suppression, or irrigation systems and related construction codes.
  • Strong background managing cross-functional teams, subcontractors, and multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a focus on quality and customer experience.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite (Slides, Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Calendar, Drive) and Slack.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for travel to job sites
  • Ability to work remotely and travel across California, including occasional nights and weekends.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience working with fire protection systems or wildfire defense solutions.
  • Familiarity with construction financials, forecasting, and project costing.
  • Knowledge of lean construction methodologies to optimize project efficiency.
  • Construction Management Degree, professional engineering license or PMP Certification.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting: $120,000 - $134,000 DOE
  • Vehicle stipend for job-related travel
  • Company-provided cell phone and laptop
  • Medical, Dental, Vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Flexible time off + 14 paid holidays (yes, your birthday is one of them!)
  • Work-from-home stipend to support your remote setup
  • Join a high-performing, mission-driven team doing work that truly matters
  • And much more!
