Community Research Liaison, Sr./ Pathways Program Coordinator

The Community Research Liaison, Sr./ Pathways Program Coordinator is a key member of the University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD), which advances the health, inclusion, and quality of life of Oregonians with disabilities and their families through education, research, community engagement, and workforce development.

The Pathways for Rural Oregon Students to Healthcare and Disability Careers (Pathways) program is an internship and mentorship initiative that helps strengthen Oregon's rural healthcare workforce and improve services for people with developmental disabilities. Pathways prepare rural students for healthcare and disability-related careers through mentorship, internships, and career development opportunities. This is a grant funded project that is funded through September 30, 2027.

This position supports program planning, implementation, and evaluation; develops and delivers curriculum and training; coordinates internships and mentorships; cultivates community and healthcare partnerships; and leads outreach, recruitment, and participant engagement efforts. Additional responsibilities include event and logistic coordination, data collection, grant reporting, and supporting program operations across multiple stakeholders. The position requires some travel throughout Oregon and occasional in-state and out-of-state travel for conferences, training sessions, meetings, presentations, and student-focused events.

The ideal candidate is an organized, collaborative professional with strong communication skills, experience managing educational or workforce development programs, proficiency with digital tools and learning platforms, and a commitment to expanding opportunities for rural students.

Required Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education, Public Health, Public Administration, Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling, Healthcare Administration, Disability Studies, Business Administration, Management, or a related field; AND two years of relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

Experience:

The two years of relevant experience needs to include: coordinating internships, mentorship, workforce development, or educational programs involving students, trainees, or community participants in healthcare, disability, public health, or community-based settings. Relevant experience may also include working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), people with disabilities, and their families.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Education, Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, or a field related to the position.
  • Knowledge of rural communities and Oregon healthcare workforce needs.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Lived, family, or professional experience related to disability.
  • Experience with grant-funded programs and reporting.
  • Experience recruiting, mentoring, or supporting students.
  • Experience coordinating internship, mentorship, or workforce development programs.
  • Experience in the field of developmental disabilities.
  • Personal or professional experience in rural communities.
  • Experience partnering with individuals with I/DD, families, and community organizations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Teams.
