Key job responsibilities Develop and implement robust World Understanding and Modeling algorithms for a domestic robot. Build simulation-based and on-robot evaluation frameworks with comprehensive benchmarks and metrics for systematic evaluation of our Spatial Intelligence stack. Conduct sim-to-real transfer experiments, analyzing performance gaps and developing techniques to ensure reliable real-world performance. Collaborate with navigation, manipulation, and other teams to ensure seamless integration of World Understanding capabilities. Stay current with the latest advances in World Modeling, Spatial Reasoning, and related fields and apply relevant findings to improve system performance. Basic Qualifications PhD, or Master’s degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience 4+ years of industry or academic research experience Experience leading technical initiatives and key deliverables Strong publication record at major Robotics/ML/AI conferences (e.g., RSS, CoRL, ICRA, IROS, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR) Experience programming in Python, C++, or related language Preferred Qualifications History of impactful first-author publications at major journals or conferences Experience bridging research with practical engineering implementation in robotics systems Experience of working with World Models or Foundation Models applied to World Semantic Understanding problem Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.
