Maintenance Planner

Are you interested in playing a key role in building a strong maintenance planning and scheduling process that supports equipment reliability, technician productivity, and operational readiness at the new LEGO Manufacturing site in Virginia?

The Maintenance Planner plans and schedules preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance work to support safe, reliable, and efficient equipment operation across assigned production areas. Responsibilities will include the following:

  1. Develop detailed job plans including labor requirements, estimated duration, tools, parts, safety requirements, permits, LOTO needs, and any special instructions required to execute work effectively.
  2. Partner with Maintenance, Production, Engineering, MRO, Safety, and Quality teams to prioritize work, reduce downtime, and ensure maintenance activities are aligned with business and production needs.
  3. Manage weekly and daily maintenance schedules by balancing equipment availability, technician capacity, production windows, material readiness, and business priorities.
  4. Ensure parts and materials are available before scheduled work begins by coordinating with MRO, Procurement, vendors, and storeroom teams to prevent delays and improve schedule compliance.
  5. Maintain accurate CMMS/SAP work order data including job plans, equipment records, labor estimates, work history, backlog status, and maintenance documentation.
  6. Track and report maintenance planning KPIs such as schedule compliance, backlog, PM completion, wrench time, work order aging, emergency work, and planned vs. unplanned maintenance.
  7. Drive continuous improvement in maintenance planning processes by improving job plans, standardizing recurring work, identifying reliability trends, and supporting root cause problem solving.

Play your part in our team succeeding

You will help ensure maintenance work is properly planned, parts are available, priorities are aligned, and the team is prepared to execute work safely and efficiently. Partner closely with Maintenance, Production, Engineering, MRO, Safety, and Quality teams to reduce downtime, improve schedule compliance, and support the successful startup and long-term performance of our manufacturing operations.

The Maintenance Planning team plays a critical role in ensuring our equipment, people, and processes are ready to support safe and reliable manufacturing operations. The department partners closely with Maintenance, Production, Engineering, MRO, Safety, and Quality to plan work effectively, reduce downtime, improve equipment reliability, and support strong execution across the operation. As a Maintenance Planner, this role supports the broader organization by turning maintenance needs into clear, executable work plans. By ensuring work orders are properly scoped, parts are available, priorities are aligned, and schedules are realistic, the Maintenance Planner helps technicians perform work safely and efficiently while enabling production teams to meet business commitments.

"In this role, you help turn maintenance strategy into action. By making sure work is planned, parts are ready, and teams are aligned, you help create a safe, reliable operation that allows our colleagues to focus on what matters most: bringing high-quality LEGO play experiences to life."

Do you have what it takes?

  • Experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, work coordination, or maintenance work management within a manufacturing, automated production, logistics, industrial, or related technical environment.
  • Working knowledge of preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, work order management, equipment reliability, and maintenance execution processes.
  • Experience using SAP, CMMS, EAM, or similar maintenance management systems to create, plan, schedule, update, and close maintenance work orders.
  • Ability to develop clear job plans that include labor estimates, parts, tools, safety requirements, equipment availability, permits, and work instructions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to partner across Maintenance, Production, Engineering, MRO, Safety, Quality, Procurement, and vendor teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, schedule changes, backlog, urgent work, and material readiness in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

  • Experience using Power BI, Excel, or similar data visualization tools to create maintenance dashboards, KPI visuals, reports, and performance summaries.
  • Ability to translate maintenance data into clear insights related to schedule compliance, backlog, PM completion, planned vs. unplanned work, MTBF, MTTR, work order aging, and labor utilization.

Additional

  • This position will work onsite 5 days a week.
  • This position will travel globally and nationally (20%).
