Job description
Seeking a full-time remote Fact Checker/Editor, the successful candidate will manage multiple projects, review and assess written content for accuracy and fairness, and collaborate with writers to enhance POGO's mission of promoting government accountability. Key responsibilities: Manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines Review and provide feedback on POGO's written projects to ensure accuracy, fairness, and clarity Collaborate with writers and assist with proofreading and maintaining the style guide Required qualifications: Four years of experience in fact checking or researching for a newsroom, nonprofit, or content-producing organization Demonstrated experience editing various content types and fact checking a range of work Knowledge of AP style Commitment to accuracy, nonpartisanship, and POGO's principles of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
