Job description

The Arora Group is currently recruiting a Physician - Occupational Medicine and Urgent Care in Washington, DC., to support the Department of Homeland Security Headquarters Workforce Care Clinic at the St. Elizabeth's Campus. The Physician will provide occupational medicine, urgent care, and mission-related clinical services supporting the health, medical readiness, and continuity of operations of the DHS workforce and other authorized patient populations.




This is a full-time, onsite position, generally scheduled Monday through Friday from 8: 00 a.M. To 4: 30 p.M. Eastern Time. The position is contingent upon contract award and is anticipated to begin September 22, 2026. The anticipated contract term is up to five years.




The Physician is designated as key personnel for this requirement. The candidate selected for proposal submission will be asked to provide a current resume, confirm availability, and sign a letter of intent supporting The Arora Group s proposal.




Duties of the Physician - Occupational Medicine and Urgent Care
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute, non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries commonly seen in an urgent care setting.
  • Conduct occupational health evaluations, including pre-employment and pre-placement examinations, medical surveillance examinations, fitness-for-duty evaluations, return-to-work assessments, and work-related injury evaluations.
  • Perform physical examinations and medical evaluations supporting employment-related and workforce-readiness determinations.
  • Interpret laboratory results, electrocardiograms, imaging results, and other available diagnostic studies.
  • Perform minor procedures, including wound care, splinting, laceration repair, and incision and drainage when clinically appropriate.
  • Assess and stabilize emergent conditions and coordinate transfer to a higher level of care when required.
  • Provide medical oversight, consultation, and clinical support to nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.
  • Support travel medicine consultations, immunizations, and related preventive services as required.
  • Provide medical clearance examinations and occupational health reviews in accordance with applicable clinical standards and Government requirements.
  • Evaluate and manage workplace injuries and medical conditions associated with occupational exposures.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation in the designated electronic health record.
  • Apply applicable occupational health standards, OSHA requirements, medical surveillance protocols, and workers compensation principles.
  • Participate in clinic quality-improvement, infection-control, patient-safety, and clinical-readiness activities.
  • Protect patient information and comply with HIPAA, the Privacy Act, and applicable confidentiality and security requirements.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and clinic leadership to support continuity of care and effective clinic operations.

Qualifications of the Physician - Occupational Medicine and Urgent Care
  • Education: Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from an accredited U.S. Medical school, or equivalent foreign medical education meeting Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates requirements.
  • Residency: Successful completion of an accredited residency in Occupational Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or a related specialty.
  • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted physician license issued by the District of Columbia.
  • Board status: Board certified or board eligible in Occupational Medicine. Physicians board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine may also be considered based on their overall qualifications.
  • Certification: Current Basic Life Support certification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is preferred.
  • Current Drug Enforcement Administration registration.
  • Current National Provider Identifier.
  • 1 year of recent clinical experience in occupational medicine, urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care.
  • Experience performing occupational health examinations, medical-surveillance evaluations, fitness-for-duty assessments, or workplace-injury evaluations is preferred.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations, occupational health standards, workers compensation principles, and workplace medical-surveillance programs.
  • Proficiency in evaluating and treating acute illnesses and injuries and performing minor urgent care procedures.
  • Strong clinical judgment and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced outpatient clinical environment.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records and medical documentation requirements.
  • Ability to stand, walk, move throughout the clinic, respond rapidly to urgent medical situations, and assist patients during emergencies.
  • Must successfully complete all Government-required credentialing, competency assessment, background-investigation, and suitability requirements before placement and maintain eligibility throughout employment.
