Norton Rose Fulbright is hiring an IP Disputes Paralegal to join the Intellectual Property team. The ideal candidate will be efficient, multitask‑oriented, independent and a team player. The position is responsible for supporting lawyers engaged in IP disputes and litigation, and experience with arbitration and trial preparation/attendance is required. Responsibilities Understand litigation motion practice, discovery, trial and appellate procedures and ability to administratively manage all phases of an IP litigation case Knowledge of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods and procedures relating to infringement of IP rights Ability to read and understand technical papers including patents, copyrights and trademark secrets Assist with trial preparation by drafting and organizing required documents and files Efficiently manage document files including correspondence, court papers, case records and materials produced in the discovery process Prioritize and manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines E‑filing motions and other pleadings, including after‑hours filings Thorough understanding of court rules and filing requirements Experience gathering patent documents from the USPTO databases and researching technical references Conduct online substantive research, filing and other administrative duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant patent paralegal experience In lieu of bachelor’s degree, 9 years of relevant patent paralegal experience Understanding of litigation procedures and patent‑related procedures, including IPRs and PGRs Knowledge of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office post‑grant filing procedure Experience managing large volume portfolios Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat Strong communication skills with the ability to interact well with people at all levels of the organization and external parties Demonstrate a positive attitude, strong judgement, initiative, integrity and be a dependable, highly motivated team player Prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously Work effectively in a fast‑paced environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities Exercise sound judgement at all times and respond calmly and effectively in stressful situations Flexibility to operate independently and in a team atmosphere with a high degree of accuracy, confidentiality and professionalism Ability to work overtime when required Benefits Norton Rose Fulbright US LLP is committed to providing employees with a comprehensive and competitive benefits package that supports your health and your family.
