Position Summary
The Welder II is responsible for welding, fabricating, and assembling custom components and structures used in staging and production projects. This role utilizes MIG and TIG welding techniques, interprets blueprints, operates fabrication equipment, and ensures all work meets quality, safety, and production standards. The ideal candidate is a skilled craftsperson who thrives in a fast-paced environment, maintains high attention to detail, and collaborates effectively with team members to deliver high-quality products on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- MIG and TIG welding stainless steel and aluminum components in flat or vertical positions
- Read blue prints and follow them accurately
- Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits
- Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly
- Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces to ensure conformance with specifications
- Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade
- Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating or warping of parts
- Maintain production efficiency levels
- Ensure timely and accurate performance of responsibilities
- Proactively participate, offer and provide guidance and assistance to others in workflow process, procedures, projects and committees
- Continuously maintain a clean and orderly work area
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- 2+ years welding/fabrication experience
- Ability to work with steel, aluminum, wood, foam and more.
- Work well in a team environment
- Positive work attitude
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to lift up 70 lbs.
- Ability to stand long hours, use hands and wrist continuously in controlled movement
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated with the initiative to learn and be trained on various types of equipment and processes
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including, overtime, nights, weekends and some holidays as required.
- Offer is contingent upon successful evaluation of fabrication skills; on site weld and fabrication test.
