Job Overview As an MRI Technologist, you are responsible for patient safety and the performance of high‑quality MR studies, both on site and/or remotely. You ensure effective communication with radiologists, team members, patients, and customers, especially when working in a mobile environment. You may train and orient new technologists and MR Technologist Assistants. Responsibilities Ensure patient safety, including pre‑screening for contraindications and aseptic injection technique. Operate multiple MR systems as required to produce high‑quality diagnostic images. Communicate with radiologists and customers, address concerns, solve problems, and resolve conflicts. Train and orient new technologists, patient coordinators, and MR Technologist Assistants on site and/or remotely. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent experience. ARRT (R) or ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT, or as allowed by contract. State license, if applicable. CPR certification. Valid state driver’s license, as applicable. Three months supervised MRI clinical scanning experience or enrollment in an accredited MRI training program for more than 6 months. RT(MR) or ARMRIT registration – no experience required for this level. Ability to work at several locations. Strong customer‑service, organizational, and multi‑tasking skills. Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs. COVID‑19 vaccination may be a condition of employment. Local travel may be required. Preferred: Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience, ARRT registry in Magnetic Resonance, 1 year of Magnetic Resonance Imaging experience. Physical Requirements Exposed to outside weather conditions during patient transport if working on a mobile unit. Exposed to a strong magnetic field. May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious diseases. More than 50% time: sit, stand, walk; repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements; see, speak, and hear to communicate with patients. Less than 50% time: stoop, kneel or crawl; climb and balance; carry and lift non‑ambulatory patients for transfer or to exam.
