Job Title Lecturer of English Composition Department Department of Language, Literature, and Arts Agency Texas A&M University - San Antonio Job Location San Antonio, Texas Job Type Faculty (Full‑time, non‑tenure‑track) Job Description Texas A&M University‑San Antonio seeks a full‑time, non‑tenure‑track English Composition lecturer. The position will begin in Fall 2026 and will have a base 4/4 teaching load, with responsibilities for teaching First‑Year Composition courses as well as service responsibilities. Faculty at A&M‑SA serve a student body that includes many non‑traditional and first‑generation students. Summer teaching assignments may be available but are not guaranteed. Successful candidates will be expected to teach Dual Credit/Early College High School students enrolled in composition courses, use instructional technologies such as learning management systems and digital portfolios, and may also be asked to teach Integrated Reading and Writing courses. Required Education and Experience Master’s degree in English, or a related field, from a regionally accredited institution Minimum of 18 graduate hours in English Minimum of one (1) year of college or university teaching experience Preferred Education and Experience Experience teaching composition A Ph.D. in English, or a closely related field, from a regionally accredited institution Benefits Summary of employee benefits available; see university benefits summary.
